Golemo Buchino Monastery "The Ascension"
It was founded in the 18th century. In the 19th century it was restored. Today it operates periodically. It is a complex consisting of a one-nef, one-apse church with one concha to the south and a residential building. The remnants of an antique building are also preserved. Patron Saint's day on Ascension Day (movable)
Location
The Golemo Buchino monastery is located in the southern skirts of the Lyulin mountain, 0,5 km to the west of the village of Golemo Buchino, Pernik municipality.
Transport
The monastery is connected to the town of Pernik (5 km to the south) by a third class road.
